Strike vote card ballot man white hand

A strike will take place at Eastwood Nursery School in Wandsworth on Wednesday 27th March after the employer proposed a restructure that threatens to move two nursery provisions to one site with only one qualified member of staff on duty each day. Further days of strike action are planned for 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th and 25th April.

Dr Patrick Roach, General Secretary of NASUWT, said:

“The employer at Eastwood Nursery School believes it is acceptable for teachers and children to bear the brunt of cost-cutting exercises.

“However, we have serious concerns over the employer’s plans and their failure to engage in meaningful consultation.

“We are urging the employer to come forward with realistic proposals that will ensure the safety of young children and provide acceptable working conditions for staff.”
